FEMCoach Launches Its Training Phase in Thessaloniki

The First International FEMCoach Seminar and Project Partners’ Meeting were held in Thessaloniki from 3 to 4 November 2025.” The partners’ meeting was dedicated to a comprehensive overview of the project activities, financial management, and monitoring of the project implementation, as well as the third internal evaluation, with a special focus on the tasks, objectives, and results of each Work Package (WP). Particular attention was given to the final steps of WP4 and WP5, the management of the FEMCoach course and MOOC platform, and the planning of upcoming project activities.

First International FEMCoach Seminar

At the premises of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the First International Seminar (IS1) marked the first direct contact between the FEMCoach coaches, the project team, and the learning content. The seminar was delivered in a hybrid format (on-site and online) and the main goal was to introduce the participants to:
• The mission and vision of the FEMCoach project
• The structure and objectives of the upcoming MOOC course
• The current progress of the project

Seminar Program Highlights


The seminar opened with a synchronous session featuring:
• Project Introduction – Prof. Nuno Leite
• Female Youth Sport Coaching State of the Art Report – Vanessa Oliveira Dias
• Toolkit Manual for Practitioners – Prof. Graça Pinto
• Teaching & Learning Materials – Prof. Raquel Font-Lladó

The second part included:
• MOOC E-learning Platform Presentation – Prof. Hippocrates Apostolidis
• Introduction of Participants & Coaching Community

This event also served as Multiplier Sport Event 1, open to the local community and to coaches who will take part in the next phases of the e-learning programme. In addition to the 28 selected coaches from all partner countries, the online platform will also be open and accessible to all interested coaches.

The seminar officially marked the beginning of the second phase of the FEMCoach project, which will include the implementation of international webinars and national workshops, with the aim of further developing and strengthening the community of coaches who promote gender equality and the empowerment of women in sport.

The seminar activities will conclude in early September 2026 with the Second International Seminar in Girona (Spain), which will be attended by both the project consortium members and all 28 selected coaches.
